Welcome to our 30th Member of the Network

Nov 7, 2022

On November 6, 2022, EcoSerce joined officially the FH Europe Network and became its 30th member organization. At the same time, it became the second patient organization from Poland along with the Patients Association with Familial Hyperlipidaemia in Gdansk.

The National Association of Patients with Heart and Vascular Diseases EcoSerce is a Poland-wide organization founded by and for cardiac patients and their families. The EcoSerce Association was established in November 2018, but the leaders of the organization have been working for cardiac patients for many years, keeping an eye on the developments in the Polish healthcare system and reacting to them accordingly.
The Association’s principal objectives include advocating for the well-being of cardiac patients and raising public awareness of patients’ rights as well as fighting for clean air, which is extremely important for those who suffer from heart and circulatory system diseases.

“This is an important milestone in growing our international Network and ensuring we collaborate with as many partners in the countries to effectively support patients and to advocate for health policy changes and improvements. EcoSerce is a strong and a well-recognized patients’ organisation in Poland, and an important partner for us in our efforts of making sure people with FH, HoFH and elevated Lp(a) in Poland get the attention and support they need to prevent CVD in their families.” stated Magdalena Daccord from FH Europe.

EcoSerce and FH Europe have already a very positive track record of joint actions. Starting back in March 2022, both organizations collaborated in information dissemination about the needs of patients in Ukraine, followed by medical aid provision to patients in Ukraine which continued for a number of months. In October, FH Europe supported a conference in Poland dedicated to the implementation of Patient Charter for people with heart failure. Agnieszka Wołczenko, the association President and Founder, joined the FH Europe Annual meeting 2022 in Lisbon, when the collaboration was officially announced.

“We are proud to have joined the community whose actions are dedicated to the patients with familial hypercholesterolemia and other inherited and life-threatening cardiovascular disease risk factors. Together we will be able to provide better support, educate and improve the quality of live for people affected by those conditions.” said Agnieszka Wołczenko, EcoSerce.
