FH Europe Network Annual Meeting 2022

Jul 27, 2022

We are delighted to announce our forthcoming FH European Network Annual Meeting: Building the Future Together, which will take place in Lisbon on 5 and 6 November 2022.

We plan to host it as a hybrid event with 2 distinctive parts. We will kick off with a set of open to public webinars covering disease specific topics. And then traditionally, on the first weekend of November we will meet in person. This year the destination is Portugal. After almost 3 years of online meetings the 2022 Annual Network event is planned to take place in Lisbon on 5 and 6 November 2022 in the premises of the National Institute for Health, with Professor Mafalda Bourbon, FH Europe’s Scientific and Policy Advisor, co-hosting the meeting and leading the scientific content together with FH Europe.

The objectives of the meeting are :

  • to reunite with our community in person
  • to launch our new FH Ambassador Programme
  • to review progress on FH Europe’s campaign on FH Paediatric Screening, to enhance political commitment and explore next steps
  • to share governance developments (FH Europe Foundation in NL)
  • to discuss and agree our Annual Work Plan 2023
  • to assess the wider CVH environment and implications for our FH community, including the campaign ‘Invisible Nations’

Pre-meeting webinars on the science behind lipid conditions

As a preparation for the Lisbon meeting, and in the framework of our FH Ambassador Programme, we will organise a series of dedicated webinars in autumn under the leadership of the Scientific Programme Co-Chairs Prof Bourbon and Prof. Sam Gidding, to explore the science and relevant developments relating to FH, HoFH, LP(a), and FCS.

Lisbon event

For the in-person part, each Network Member may invite one representative for whom we will cover travel and subsistence costs, in accordance with our policy. Additionally, we will sponsor additional 10 representatives from across the network who wish to be part of the FH Europe Ambassador Programme.

Please do save the date and to think about your representative. This will be very much a working meeting, thinking about the future of FH Europe and your representative should have a good command of English and have the mandate to speak on behalf of your organisation. S/he should also be available to participate in preparatory webinars (see above) in advance of the Annual Meeting to ensure we all get the most from the experience.

A registration form will made available shortly.
